Manchester City will look to stay ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League title race when they face arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
The Cityzens overcame a difficult-looking fixture on paper when they beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday having gone out on aggregate to the same opponents in the Champions League just a few days previously.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men’s difficult run of form continued as they were thrashed 4-0 by Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, leaving them with a lot to do if they want to be playing Champions League football next term.
Who would win out of Man Utd’s treble winners and Man City today? Fans discuss in the video below…
City supporters have taken to the Blue Moon forum to have their say on United ahead of the huge clash.
What have they been posting? Any surprises?
Not particularly, with many ripping into their local neighbours and one individual even labelling them as a “mess”.
Understandably, some City fans fear a reaction following the dismal display on Merseyside at the weekend, there are of course others who are confident that their team can easily beat an out-of-sorts United.
What is interesting is that more than one supporter believes that the hosts could resort to long-ball tactics at Old Trafford, to exploit a potential weakness for Pep Guardiola’s men shown against Spurs.
This is a huge game for both teams for their season ambitions, and it will be interesting to see how it all pans out on Wednesday.
