Sheffield Wednesday’s latest injury news has left fans at Hillsborough absolutely seething as they are set to be without one of their summer signings.
Owls boss Garry Monk has revealed that midfielder Massimo Luongo is still on the treatment table ahead of tonight’s match against Charlton Athletic.
He told the Sheffield Star: “It doesn’t look likely. Massimo still has another week or so.”
The 27-year-old has been absent since his ‘sending off’ during the 5-0 Blackburn abomination last month, and even though his suspension was rescinded, he has been out injured with a groin problem meaning he has now missed seven matches.
Plenty of fans have been reacting to his troubles on social media, here’s what they have been saying…
The anger amongst those in south Yorkshire was epitomised by one fan blasting the Australian for being a “wage thief” while he was also described as “another crock.”
A further supporter pondered Sam Hutchinson’s continued omission as he claims the veteran won’t be played because of his fitness problems.
There were other words of choice to highlight Luongo’s problems, such as “sick note” and “made of glass.”
One supporter claimed the midfielder was “made of biscuits” and another member of the Owls faithful berated the club’s recruitment, calling it “a special kind of ineptitude.”
Some were quick to compare him to a former player in Almen Abdi, who has been without a club since his release from Wednesday this summer.

The Swiss playmaker joined the club in 2016 from Watford but could only make 23 appearances in three years at Hillsborough.
Funnily enough, Luongo is only two games from matching that tally in one season.
